Lazarus enrolled in the Cairns SchoolTech program in 2017 to study Engineering and Marine. In 2018, he was signed as a Shoreline Trainee. He currently works for Experience Co and has been afforded many opportunities since graduating Year 12, thanks to Shoreline.

In 2019 he was invited to the Gold Coast to perform the welcome to country with his didgeridoo at The Fishing Hall of Fame Dinner. Whilst in Year 12, he and another trainee visited the Tiwi Islands to see the successes of other trainees in the program. In 2020 he again was invited to play the didgeridoo at the opening of the new Cairns Airport.

Lazarus is currently furthering his education, gaining accreditation to be an open water diver on the Great Barrier Reef, where he then hopes to be trained as an advanced diver to lead diving groups.
